Hope you made it home OK! Glad we had a little time together. I gave a Nansen talk at my son's high school yesterday and will do another at UCSB where I teach tomorrow. I am telling these folks about the Baffin Babses' adventures!!
I placed my Nansen talks on my website, www.opl.ucsb.edu. Just click on Nansen Talks in the left column if you'd like to tak a look. You can browse the website to see what kind of research I do if you are interested.
I am going to see about how we can possibly get you to come to UCSB for a talk.
it was a pleasure meeting you babes at the CLU Nordic Symposium on saturday. i'm so surprised that we know some of the same people! can't wait to get back to spitsbergen, i miss it already! (polar girl here i come!) come visit anytime, you babes always have a place in sunny southern california.
Loved your presentation in Thousand Oaks, California, Kristin & Inge!!! Too bad the weather wasn't better...oh, wait, compared to Baffin Island it was great! Everyone I talked to loved it, and your great spirit of adventure. Best of luck on your next trek !
I am so glad I got to see your presentation at the VIMFF last night. So amazing and so inspiring! After your show the rock climbing films looked tame.
Thank you for all the laughs and for sharing with us your thoughts, impressions, dreams and team dynamics on that trip. Now that I have seen what you are capable of I won?t let anyone tell me my own plans are too difficult.
Thank you for coming here and sharing your story with us.
Hi ladies!
I attended your slide show at the VIMFF in North Vancouver last night. It was fabulously varied and incredibly entertaining! You were all incredibly generous with your expedition information, personal anecdotes, photography, team dynamics and sharing of your grit and obvious mountaineering and expedition skills.
As a fellow pulk-hauler (my partner and I spent 30 days crossing the Great Slave Lake in the winter of 2006) you so captured the struggles over sastrugi, the diet , the daily physical and mental regime, the austere beauty of the arctic, and the simplicity and surrender to working with nature and what it throws at you when you are out there.
What's next...and if you need a 5th team member I'm available!
I attended your presentation at the University of Victoria last night and thought it was fantastic! It was very inspirational and I really admire what you have accomplished together as a team. Enjoy your time here in British Columbia! Best wishes for your journeys ahead!

PS love the arctic aerobics!
