2009 Baffin Island
Over 80 days, we completed an unforgettable ski expedition on Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. By the time we reached Pond Inlet towards the end of May, we had put 1200 km of glaciers, land transfers, pack ice, moraines, mountain passes and flat, great fjord ice behind us.
We experienced the polar bears, foxes and seals in their natural environment, we met Inuits, danced aerobics in the snow, swam in seal wholes and learned how to live outside in 40 degrees below zero. During the day, we enjoyed the arctic sun, and at night, Northern lights moved across the skies.
Later, we made a film that was shown on NRK (Norwegian national television), and published the book “Baffin Babes – 80 dager på ski i arktis».” The book was nominated for this year’s wild life book in Norway, autumn of 2011. Film Festivals in Canada, USA, Norway, Sweden, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Netherlands and Luxembourg, have been on our list.
